Klein Cain’s Jaydon Blue ranked as the nation’s No. 1 running back for class of 2022

Last year was special for Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue in that it was the junior’s first year on varsity in the program’s initial year with a senior class.

The 5-foot-11, 209 pounder was asked by the coaching staff if he wanted to join varsity but said no as Blue was still coming off an injury and wanted to make sure it healed right before moving up to the next level. By the time the season finished, Blue was named the District 15-6A Newcomer of the Year.

With the 2020 fall season on the horizon amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Rivals announced Tuesday, Aug. 18, that Blue was ranked the No. 1 running back for the class of 2022.

“I’m happy about it but I know that I still have to work hard,” Blue said. “I’m going to still be me, work out every day, get stronger, faster.”

In comparison, 247Sports has Blue ranked as the No. 1 running back in Texas and No. 4 running back in the country. Blue said seeing other athletes ranked higher motivated him to work hard every day.

“I was trying to get that No. 1 spot and I know other people were trying to do the same,” Blue said. “I just got to make sure I work every day so I can stay No. 1.”

As a second-year player on varsity, Blue participated in spring football and practiced with the team, earning a starting spot and was happy to try and help the Hurricanes make it far. Pre-Season Schedule

Make sure you have looked over the pre-season practice schedule and have made transportation arrangements for your child to and from practices. The temperature will be extremely hot, so make sure to have your child drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
